The reason why famous swords shine so beautifully is because of the hands of people who have been constantly protecting and polishing them for hundreds of years since they were forged. This exhibition will display about 100 swords and sword fittings designated as national treasures and important cultural properties from the Heian period to the Edo period from the collection of the Sano Museum of Art, which boasts one of Japan's leading sword collections. Among them, the national treasure "Tachi Mei Ichi" will be exhibited in Ehime for the first time in 36 years. In addition, the exhibition will also feature masterpieces such as the famous spear "Tonbogiri", which has also become a character in "Touken Ranbu", and the important cultural property "Matsuie", as well as swords related to Ehime, such as the famous sword "Masamune" (Important Cultural Property) owned by Todo Takatora, lord of Iyo Imabari Castle, which will be exhibited for the first time in the prefecture. In addition, famous swords (Important Cultural Properties) that have been handed down to Isaniwa Shrine and Shinonome Shrine will be specially exhibited in conjunction with this exhibition. We hope to be able to convey the aesthetic sense and culture that the Japanese people have cultivated through the nearly 1,000-year history of Japanese swords.
*Only Masamune and Okanemitsu will be exhibited during the change of exhibition.

Only available at the venue! Special commentary by voice actor Tooru Sakurai on "Tonbogiri"!!
