Before establishing his style as an Impressionist, Monet is said to have come across the works of Turner, one of Britain's leading painters, and was astonished by his depiction of landscapes.
This exhibition features over 70 exquisite works by artists active in Britain and France from the 19th to the early 20th centuries, taken from the collection of the National Museum of Wales, which was established in 1907. The exhibition brings together unique and brilliant masterpieces by shining stars of art history, including Turner and Constable, the twin pillars of modern British landscape painting, as well as realists Millet and Courbet, impressionists Monet and Renoir, and the Pre-Raphaelite Rossetti.
