Long harsh winters, melting springs, beautiful but short summers, and golden autumns. The vast Russian nature has been a source of inspiration for artists. There is no end to artists who keenly sense and express the scenes woven by nature and humans, the charm of the local climate, the fragrant culture, and the emotions of the people in their paintings. This exhibition is divided into four chapters: "Romantic Landscapes," "Russian People," "Children's World," and "Cities and Life," and features 72 works by artists such as Kramskoy, Shishkin, Levitan, and Repin, who were active in Russia in the late 19th century and early 20th century, when the imperial government was on the verge of collapse and revolution, from the collection of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the temple of Russian art. This rare exhibition allows you to experience the moving beauty of the nature, climate, culture, and people of Russia, which is close yet far away, while thinking about Russian romance. After Tokyo, Okayama, and Yamagata, the exhibition will travel to Ehime, the final venue this fall.
