Kondo Aki, the original author of "Rilakkuma", has created her latest picture book "Dream Bank", set in a shop run by the penguin Penpen, which sells "dreams". The shop sells dreams that have turned into candy. The dream world that Penpen experiences as he interacts with customers who come to buy candy and to sell dreams is expressed in delicate colors and soft, gentle words. In addition to creating picture books, she is also active as a character designer, and has created familiar characters that are loved by many people across generations, including "Rilakkuma", "Mofy the Rabbit" (the animation has been broadcast in more than 30 countries and regions around the world), "Woo and Waa", and "Ofuton-san". This exhibition, commemorating Kondo Aki's 20th anniversary as a writer, will comprehensively introduce a wide range of Kondo Aki's works, from her debut work "Mikan from the Tree" (Mikan Boy) to her latest work "Dream Bank". Please enjoy the many works that convey the casual, precious moments of everyday life, along with familiar characters that give you a sense of security.
