Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) was a master of the Renaissance, and left a glorious legacy as a versatile genius across a wide range of fields. This exhibition focuses on The Battle of Anghiari, which Leonardo created in collaboration with Michelangelo, who was also commissioned to paint a mural in the Great Council Hall (now the Hall of Five Hundred) of the Palazzo della Signoria (now the Palazzo Vecchio) in Florence. The exhibition will explore the various aspects of Western art surrounding this legendary event in art history, centering on the important panel painting Tavola Doria (Doria Panel), which depicts the scene of the "Struggle for the Standard," which forms the central part of the composition of the unfinished work.
