The colors of the rainbow are presented on a large surface with delicate gradation from light to dark. Ay-O, who is known as the “Rainbow Artist,” uses rainbow colors not only on paintings but in all kinds of different formats. The rainbow colors are a means of expressing everything that can be seen through light. As he used touch, smell, and other senses to ascertain the components that make up our world, Ay-O encountered the rainbow colors as a representation of the sense of sight. In this work, the surface layer was created by tipping the canvas upside down to drip the paints, making it appear as if rainbow rain is evaporating in the sky.
